GHACEM CEMENT FOUNDATION
Economic and social intervention mainly geared towards infrastructural development with strategic focus on health and education, as well as special projects. Ghacem cement foundation was established in 2002 as the main driver of Ghacem’s CSR programmes.
The governing council of the cement foundation is made up of Nana Prah Agyeinsaim VI (Chairman), Professor Audrey Gadzekpo (member), and Mr Stefano Gallini-Managing Director (member).

The Ghacem Cement Foundation (GCF) was established by Ghacem Limited in 2002 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), to assist communities to improve their Health and Educational infrastructure(s) or build new ones.

The Cement Foundation donates cement to deserving rural and urban communities, with priority to small or medium sized projects. Such projects need to have a significant element of community labor.

Most importantly, donations are made devoid of partisan considerations.
CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION(S)

Requirements for rehabilitation
1. Original application letter from the Community or Head of Institution.

Head Teacher / Master

Doctor - in – charge or Medical Assistant / Administrator
2. Letter from the District Director of Education or Health
3. Letter from the MCE or any Senior Government Official or Chairman of the Town Development Council or Head of a recognized Religious Institution.
4. Two (2) photographs, showcasing new / rehabilitated structures, should be endorsed by the District Director of Education / Health.
5. Expected completion time for project after cement has been received.

Requirement for new structure(s)
As above, but the building / structure must be at the lintel level before qualifying unless the Ghacem Cement Foundation can rely on the applicant’s ability to continue the structure from the foundation stage.
HOW THE TIER III WORKS
Agreement has been signed with the various communities
GHS 10.00 per every truck loaded from the site(s) is deposited in the fund
The community does the need analysis ( what do they need) and forward recommendation to the governing council for consideration
Depending on availability of funds, the recommendation is approved for execution.
Contractual agreement is signed with the contractor and Funds are then released and monitoring team supervises until completion. The contract management is done by Ghacem procurement office/Technical services department
After execution, The Governing Council fixes a date for commissioning with its attendant media relations.

Beneficiaries : 392 communities (northern & southern sectors)
Year to Date distribution : 670,450 bags (2002-2023)
