GHACEM CEMENT FOUNDATION - WHAT IT IS IN GHACEM
Economic and social intervention mainly geared towards infrastructural development with strategic focus on health and education, as well as special projects. Ghacem cement foundation has been established since 2002 as the main driver of Ghacem’s CSR programmes.
The governing council of the cement foundation is made up of Nana Prah Agyeinsaim VI (Chairman), Professor Audrey Gadzekpo (member), and Mr Morten Gade-Managing Director (member).
GHACEM CEMENT FOUNDATION - A 3TIER PROGRAMME
- TIER I - Distribution of cement for improvement of health facilities or build new ones
- TIER II - Distribution of cement for improvement of educational facilities or build new ones
- TIER III - Execution of development projects around the quarry sites and other places of influence
CRITERIA FOR TIER I & II
Original application letter from the Community or Head of Institution
Chairman, Town Development Council
Head Teacher/Master (In the case of Education)
Doctor-in Charge or Medical Assistant/Administration (In case of health)
Head Midwife.(In case of health)
Letter from the District Director of Education or Health
Letter From the District Chief Executive or any Senior Government Official or Chairman of the Town Development Council or head of religious institution.
Two (2) pictures of existing structures to be rehabilitated to be endorsed by the Director of Education/ Health.

HOW THE TIER III WORKS
Agreement has been signed with the various communities
GHS 10.00 per every truck loaded from the site(s) is deposited in the fund
The community does the need analysis ( what do they need) and forward recommendation to the governing council for consideration
Depending on availability of funds, the recommendation is approved for execution.
Contractual agreement is signed with the contractor and Funds are then released and monitoring team supervises until completion. The contract management is done by Ghacem procurement office/Technical services department
After execution, The Governing Council fixes a date for commissioning with its attendant media relations.

Southern Sector : 12,930 bags (2016)
Northern Sector : 16,750 bags (2016)
Total Cost involved : GHS980,000
Beneficiaries : 331 communities (northern & southern sectors)
Year to Date distribution : 420, 000 bags (2002-2016)
Value : GHS 13.4m
Beneficiaries Year to Date : 4,263 communities (2002-2016)

Reason: Beneficiary communities to finalise proposals on selected projects with respective Municipal Assembly and present final proposal to Ghacem.
